My name is Joe Nichols, and I’m proud to be part of the Lewis and Clark Middle School community. This year marks my 24th in education and my 15th at Lewis and Clark, where I’ve had the privilege of serving as Assistant Principal for the past 9 years.
Lewis and Clark is more than a school—it’s where the Jay Trail begins. Our students and staff are dedicated, driven, and make every day meaningful. I’m proud to be a Trailblazer and a Jay.
I began my career in Boonville, MO, as an Art teacher and coach at Laura Speed Elliott Middle School, then taught Art at Blair Oaks Elementary. Seventeen years ago, I joined the Jefferson City School District as the District Instructional Technology Specialist, supporting teachers in integrating technology to enhance learning.
Born and raised in Jefferson City, I graduated from Jefferson City High School. I hold a B.S. in Art Education from Lincoln University, an M.Ed. in Instructional Technology from the University of Missouri, and an Ed.S. in School Administration from William Woods University.
Outside of school, I enjoy time with my wife and our four children. Faith and family are my foundation and greatest joy.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve this school and community, and I look forward to continuing to support student growth at Lewis and Clark.
