My family and I just moved to Missouri from the state of California. Although this is a big change for our family we are ready for the journey. We love the lush, green landscapes of Missouri and all the rivers and lakes. We enjoy the great outdoors, hiking, camping, and exploring the many wonders of Missouri. My son is 10 and is entering 5th grade and has an inquisitive and adventurous nature about him. 

I have 16 years of experience in the field of education, including nine years working in special education. It is my passion to teach and I believe that each student can learn and thrive through enriched learning opportunities. As an educator, it is my belief that building a positive relationship with my students is an effective approach that creates a safe and comfortable learning environment, which empowers the student to take charge of their education and their choices.  I enjoy designing project based learning opportunties that are student centered and dynamic that drive my student's sense of inquiry, spark curiosity and accomplishment. 

If a student cannot learn in the way we teach, then we need to teach the way they learn.
