  • Hello!  This is my 23rd year of teaching... all at Callaway Hills Elementary!  I earned my Masters of Elementary Education from Truman State University.  I also hold a K-12 Spanish certification. In  past years I served as the first grade lab classroom for our district.  I also have the honor of being selected as a finalist for the Jefferson CIty School District Teacher of the Year award two times!  I love teaching children how to read and watching them progress throughout the year.  Each year I learn so much from the students in my class.  I look forward to learning new things from your children.

There are three rules in our classroom: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe.  We are a team that works together so everyone can finish the race.  I strive to create a warm, caring environment where your child feels safe to take risks with his/her learning, learn from mistakes and celebrate successes.  The students know from the beginning that we are a family - we care for and help one another.

When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family.  I am married and have two sons.  My oldest is eighteen and a college freshman.  My youngest is sixteen years old and is a high school sophomore. I also have an English bulldog, Brooke, and a grey cat named Ash.  I love to read, travel, play games, do puzzles, knit, dance, garden, and watch movies with my family.  We do a lot together and have a great time! We are experts at escape rooms!

If you have any questions, comments or concerns throughout the year about your child, please contact me. By working together, we can make big things happen in your child's life.  Thank you for your support this year.  I can't do my job effectively without it!
