Hello!I am so excited about beginning my tenth year at Thomas Jefferson as a seventh-grade social studies teacher. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary and Middle School Education at Evangel University. I have a love and passion for the subject of social studies and I feel honored to be teaching it! Nine years ago, I continued my education at the University of Missouri as an MU teaching fellow. Through this program, I earned my Master's Degree in Learning, Curriculum, and Instruction with an emphasis on Social Studies. I have a passion for being a "lifelong learner" and I hope to inspire my students to be the same!Besides teaching, I love traveling, singing, swimming, and watching musicals. My husband and I recently celebrated our seventh anniversary and became parents to twin boys, Allen and Judd! My family is my world and I LOVE being a momma! My boys have given me a new insight and lens into education. We also have the cutest puppy in the world named Lottie. She is a Miniature Goldendoodle and has filled our lives with joy these past four years we have had her. I am a Jefferson City graduate and feel lucky to call myself a "Jay"! I am so happy to be "home" and teaching at the school that I once attended as a student.I also enjoy watching baseball, hockey, and basketball. I am a Cardinal, Mizzou, and Blues fan! I love visiting the Fabulous Fox Theater in St. Louis, and my favorite show is "Hamilton", "Come From Away" and "SIX"! I also love to explore the world we live in and have traveled to many places. My favorite place I have been is Athens, Greece.Together I hope to have a wonderful year!Mrs. Rustemeyer
