“After a decade of painting, I realized that I preferred to be in a library over an art museum, so I studied to get certified to teach English Language Arts.”
Sanderson is a second-year teacher at Jefferson City High School. Previous to teaching ELA and Journalism courses at JCHS, she taught Visual Arts at Crossroads Preparatory Academy in Kansas City, K-12 Art at Chadwick Public Schools, Art Foundations at Middle Tennessee State University, Drawing and Painting at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and Drawing at the University of Arkansas School of Art.
Her work has always been informed by narrative —from books, movies, t.v. series, and her own life.
