A 2001 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Miller was a three sport athlete in football, basketball, baseball and later played baseball for two years while attending Culver-Stockton College. He then transferred to Southwest Baptist University where he received his Bachelors in Sports Management with an emphasis in Athletic Administration.
Miller then taught k-12 Physical Education at Fair Play High school and coached the varsity softball and baseball teams from 2006-2008. Once his wife completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at Southwest Baptist University the family relocated to north Missouri, where he became the varsity softball coach and assistants with the girls and boys basketball programs. While at Brookfield he lead the Lady Bulldogs to a District championship, a quarterfinal appearance, a Conference Championship and he was named Tri-Rivers Conference coach of the year in 2009.
Then in 2010, Miller and his family relocated to Holts Summit, Missouri where he teaches Physical Education at Thomas Jefferson Middle School and assistant softball coach at Jefferson City High School.
