Jefferson City High School

Hi, my name is Mrs. Shelly Kiesling, and this is my 9th year as an English teacher for JCHS.  Previously, I have spent three years as a substitute teacher throughout the Jefferson City public school district and two years as the JCHS Credit Recovery Instructor. I am an enthusiastic teacher who loves working with secondary students.  I enjoy getting to know each of my students for the special individual that each one is and helping them develop their writing and grammar skills while exploring a deeper understanding of literature. I am also the Scholar Bowl Team Coach, and the year before last I took the team to Nationals in Atlanta, GA. My husband is a graduate of JCHS, and we both received our undergraduate degrees from Mizzou. We have two wonderful daughters, ages 17 and 20. The oldest graduated from JCHS in 2018 and now goes to Truman State University. My hobbies are reading, sewing, scrapbooking, and watching Star Trek.
